M365 Migration Architect

Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Microsoft 365 Migration Governance Lead to support a business divestiture involving the migration of approximately 400 users and their Microsoft 365 data to a new tenant environment. This individual will serve as the primary technical advisor and oversight lead, ensuring migration activities are properly planned, coordinated, and executed by the acquiring organization's migration team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide governance and oversight for a Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migration supporting a business divestiture.
• Review migration plans, technical designs, cutover strategies, timelines, and execution activities.
• Coordinate efforts between internal stakeholders, external migration teams, and Microsoft support resources.
• Monitor project progress, risks, dependencies, and issues while providing recommendations to ensure successful delivery.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Entra ID, Intune, ShareGate, and BitTitan.
• Support tenant separation activities, user migrations, account decommissioning, and critical Microsoft 365 escalations.

Skills and Requirements

• 7+ years of Microsoft 365 administration, engineering, or architecture experience.
• Strong expertise with SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Exchange Online, Entra ID, and Intune.
• Proven experience leading or overseeing Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migrations.
• Hands-on experience with ShareGate and/or BitTitan migration tools.
• Experience providing technical governance, migration oversight, and stakeholder management for enterprise projects.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with leadership, technical teams, and external partners.
• Experience supporting M&A, divestiture, carve-out, or tenant separation initiatives.
• Background as a Microsoft 365 Architect, Migration Lead, or Principal Engineer.
• Experience supporting global organizations and offshore teams.
• Microsoft certifications related to Microsoft 365, Azure, or Entra ID.
