Job Description

We are seeking a Systems Engineer 2-4 to support the development of complex aerospace and defense systems throughout the product lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer who wants exposure to the full systems engineering process and enjoys working across multiple technical disciplines. The Systems Engineer I serves as a "jack-of-all-trades" within the engineering organization, helping connect teams, requirements, subsystems, and technical deliverables to ensure a cohesive system solution. In this role, you will support traditional systems engineering activities using the V-Model development process, including requirements decomposition, requirements traceability, technical risk identification, system integration, verification, and validation. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to help define, develop, test, and deliver mission-critical systems while gaining exposure to all phases of system development.

This position is an initial 6-month contract with opportunity to extend. The hourly rate is based on experience, ranging from $45-75.50/hr. This is an onsite position, working a 9x80 schedule.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline. 5+ years of engineering experience through internships, co-ops, research projects, or professional employment. Understanding of systems engineering fundamentals and the systems development lifecycle. Familiarity with the V-Model development process, including requirements, design, integration, verification, and validation. Internship, academic project, or professional experience supporting aerospace, space, defense, aviation, or complex technical systems. Exposure to requirements management tools such as DOORS or similar platforms. Experience supporting requirements verification and validation activities. Familiarity with technical baseline management and configuration management practices. Understanding of risk management and technical performance tracking. Exposure to system integration and test activities. Knowledge of INCOSE systems engineering principles and standards. Experience working within a cross-functional engineering team environment. Familiarity with MBSE concepts or SysML tools, though this role primarily focuses on traditional systems engineering practices.
