Summary
Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. Duties
Serves as Wireless Network Engineer and will be responsible for network administration and operational support for wireless technologies including configuration, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance as well as rotating 24/7 on call support. Candidate will work with functional groups and vendors to assess technologies, develop technical solutions for our environment and execute approved changes. Key responsibilities include: - Provide operational support for the Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) Enterprise Network wireless technologies via monitoring, configuration, maintenance, designs, inventory control and on call support; - Assist with wired network operational support; - Maintain configuration management control in accordance with defined standards, policies, and industry best practices; - Comply with and ensure security standards and policies for DoD and PCI are followed at all times; - Assist the Network Services Team, functional groups, vendors and managers to evaluate and select appropriate value-add solutions and innovations; - Assist with and/or lead technology upgrades and engineering initiatives as assigned Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements
EVALUATIONS: Qualifications
Four years of related experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skills equivalent to that gained in the above. Applicable education may be substituted for years of experience. Two (2) years demonstrated experience with wireless network solutions in a medium to large organization including design, configuration, deployment, operation, monitoring and troubleshooting. In addition: - Possession of at least one wireless or network certification, such as CWNA, CCNA, CCS: Wireless Design, CCS: Wireless Solutions, JNCIA-Junos, JNCIA MistAI, or ACMA is preferred; - Working knowledge of Cisco Catalyst Center, Aruba Central, or Juniper Mist platforms; - Proficiency with at least one wireless survey and analysis tool such as Ekahau, AirMagnet, Hamina, or an equivalent solution; - Experience with documenting networks with spreadsheets, diagrams, etc.; - Ability to learn beyond formal training with a strong aptitude for delivering quality architectures; - Self-starter, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects; - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate abstract concepts in verbal, written, and visual forms; - Strong ability to understand client expectations and to resolve issues that may affect delivery; - Basic knowledge and understanding of UNIX, Microsoft Windows, Android and associated environmental technologies; - Prior experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions or Radio frequency Identification (RFID) technologies is preferred; - Position requires moderate travel; - As an authorized and privileged user of Department of Defense Information Systems candidate must possess or receive Information Assurance awareness by completing the Security+ Certification as a condition of access within six months of employment and thereafter must complete annual Information Assurance awareness training. This position has been designated as a position of trust. The incumbent must be eligible for an Access National Agency Check and Inquiries (ANACI/ Tier 3) background investigation to satisfy IT Level II designation. Appointment and continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of the security investigation.
