JOB TITLE: Software Engineer [Multiple Positions Available]
LOCATION: 575 Washington Boulevard, Jersey City, NJ 07310.
DUTIES: Design, develop, and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions. Develop, optimize, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to support data integration, transformation, and loading from various sources into data warehouses or data lakes. Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and validation processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data assets. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineering teams to deliver scalable data solutions, support advanced analytics, and enable machine learning workflows.
REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Database Administrator, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Database Administrator, or related occupation. This position requires one (1) year of experience with the following: working with AWS cloud engineering including infrastructure setup and security using EC2, ECS, S3, EMR, Lambda, and IAM; automating CI/CD pipelines using Docker, Jenkins, and Harness; programming in Python for data processing and workflow automation; automating operational tasks and managing scheduled jobs with orchestration and scripting using Bash, Powershell, or job scheduling tools such as Control-M; and working with large-scale data processing and optimization including distributed computing and data pipeline design using PySpark or SQL-powered engines including Apache Spark SQL, AWS Redshift, and Athena.
