Full job description

Jacobs' Energy and Power Solutions team is searching for a driven Entry-Level Transmission and Distribution Engineer who is excited about starting their career focused on the energy and power market. Join our Transmission and Distribution team, you’ll have the chance to work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges locally and worldwide.

As global demand for reliable, resilient and sustainable energy grows, our teams are tackling some of the most complex challenges in modern power systems. From designing high‑voltage substations to integrating renewable energy and improving grid reliability, Jacobs collaborates across disciplines to deliver safe, innovative and customized solutions for our clients. You’ll gain the tools, experience and opportunities to work on a wide range of impactful and technically challenging substation and power infrastructure projects—helping you grow your career while shaping the future of energy.

Under the guidance of professional engineers and other senior technical staff you will provide solutions to some of our clients’ most pressing challenges. You will support the design and delivery of high‑voltage transmission and distribution substation projects and contribute to the technical quality of assigned engineering tasks while gaining familiarity with client expectations, project scopes, budgets, and schedules.

Some of the tasks you can expect to work on in this position are condition assessment of existing systems, feasibility and master plan studies and detailed design and construction oversite for power generation facilities, distribution systems and substations. You will be contributing to real substation, transmission, and energy transition projects. Expect to increase your modeling skills while modeling complex power systems to evaluate load flow, short-circuit, and arc-flash hazards and to develop relay protection strategies. Additional design activities will include lightning protection systems and grounding. Whether you’re supporting concept studies, electrical design, power system modelling, equipment specifications or interdisciplinary coordination, your work will have real‑world impact.

Our graduates are future leaders of our business. Whatever drives your ambition—technical excellence, project leadership, innovation, or shaping the future of sustainable energy—you’ll discover how to develop and achieve your goals within a global team committed to making a difference.
