Overview

As a Product Engineer on the ArcGIS Pro Sharing team, you will help shape how GIS professionals publish their work, collaborate with others, and bring authoritative content to ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and related apps. This role is a blend of product thinking, technical investigation, and hands-on validation. You will work closely with developers, product engineers, and other teams to understand real user workflows, explore edge cases, improve product quality, and help turn complex sharing scenarios into reliable, intuitive product capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for ArcGIS Pro sharing workflows, with a focus on product quality, regression coverage, and release readiness

  • Build test coverage for workflows that share GIS content to ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise

  • Analyze customer scenarios and product requirements to identify expected behavior, edge cases, and areas where automated validation is needed

  • Investigate test failures and product issues, communicate findings clearly, and help drive defects to resolution

  • Work with developers and product teams to refine sharing workflows and ensure new capabilities are testable, reliable, and ready for release

  • Support documentation, messaging, and user-facing workflows by validating behavior and helping clarify how users share GIS content successfully

Requirements

  • 1+ years of related C# programming experience for automated test development

  • Experience testing or troubleshooting software features in a collaborative development environment

  • Ability to evaluate workflows from a user perspective and translate requirements into clear test plans and product feedback

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to investigate complex software behavior

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across engineering, design, documentation, and product teams

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, GIS, geography, or a related field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, or other GIS products

  • Familiarity with web GIS concepts, including web maps, services, REST APIs, or JSON

  • Experience with automated testing frameworks, continuous integration systems, or software quality processes

  • Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, GIS, geography, or a related field

Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is $70,304—$109,200 USD
