This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Coastal Empire Community Mental Health Center - Hampton Clinic, 65 Forest Drive, Varnville, SC 29944.

Under the direct supervision of the Hampton Clinic Director, you will provide clinical services to adults of Hampton County who are mentally ill or severely emotionally disturbed. This position will work independently in providing recovery-oriented services such as Assessments, Individual or Family Therapy and other needed services as appropriate.

Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional I - Adult Treatment:• Provide clinical services to the chronic adult population that will include: Assessments, Family Therapy, Individual Therapy, Group Therapy, Crisis Intervention and other services as identified by individual client need.

• Provide clinical services to the Adult population.

• Ensure documentation of all services provided in accordance with QA standards and policies as they relate to Corporate Compliance issues.

• Attend and participate in "treatment team" and other office staff meetings as needed to develop, monitor, evaluate treatment goals, review crisis, and to support the operation of the office.

• Provide limited case management services (consult with community resources, state agencies and other organizations) as needed for the clients they serve to ensure continuity of care for the client.

• Provide informal presentations to community agencies and general public to share information and educate the community about services that are provided at the Hampton Clinic.

This position MAY be eligible for SCOMH Student Loan Repayment to cover some of the cost of your outstanding loan(s) balance associated with the completion of a healthcare degree that is relevant to the applicable position.

• A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.

• One (1) year of experience in a clinical counseling program

• State licensure or licensure eligible.

• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

This position may require some in-state travel.

Post hire, employees must:• Be able to complete Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) certification

• Have knowledge of the theories and practices of psychopathology and psychotherapy necessary to treat persons with mental illness and/or chemical dependencies in a community setting.
• Be able to assess, diagnose and plan appropriate treatment for clients and work effectively with their family members.
