This job posting is for two positions located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Beckman Center for Mental Health Services, Greenwood Mental Health Clinic, 1547 Parkway Greenwood SC, 29646.

Under general supervision, the administrative specialist II will perform a variety of advanced administrative and clerical duties which are critical in meeting Access to Care Protocols and to the general operation of the mental health clinic.

Responsibilities for the Administrative Specialist II:• Adhere to access to care protocols to include - completion of C-20’s as appropriate, managing a will-call list, and making appointment reminder calls.

  • Schedule all telehealth and clinic-based patient appointments and prescription requests.

  • Provide professional and courteous customer service to include- Answering the telephone timely, handling routine calls appropriately, greeting/orienting clients and visitors, ensuring patients and visitors are seen for appointments timely, maintaining a neat and orderly lobby.

  • Ensure patients complete registration/intake per OMH policy and Quality standards. Provide patients assistance with voter registration.

  • Ensure that patients receiving a self-pay reduction have submitted appropriate documentation. Complete yearly financial updates on each client in accordance with OMH DoFS and Beckman policies and procedures.

  • Collect self-pay charges and complete deposits in accordance with OMH (Department of Financial Services) policies and Procedures.

  • Adhere to policies and procedures according to Corporate Compliance, Fire and Safety and CARF. Demonstrate cultural competency.

  • A high school diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.

  • A high school diploma and two (2) years of clerical experience; or an associate degree in secretarial science or other related field; or three year's clerical experience.

  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Post hire, employees must:

  • Utilize judgement and discretion in implementation of policies, practices and procedures.
  • Operate standard office equipment.
  • Collect and assemble information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and written.
  • Coordinate work assignments.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the general public.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Understand that position is considered essential and may be called back during crises/disasters/emergencies.
