Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect for one of their clients in the Kennesaw, GA area within the manufacturing industry. In this hybrid role, the architect will spend their day designing and refining scalable, secure Azure-based cloud architectures, translating business requirements into practical reference designs, blueprints, and patterns that can be reused across the enterprise. They will lead end-to-end cloud initiatives by assessing current environments, defining target-state architectures, and driving migration and modernization efforts, including re-platforming legacy applications and integrating newly acquired companies into the existing cloud operating model. On a daily basis, they will partner closely with product owners, application teams, and infrastructure/operations groups to clarify requirements, recommend cloud-native services, and ensure solutions align with both technology roadmaps and M&A strategies. The architect will also be hands-on with DevOps and automation, building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform or Bicep, integrating with GitHub workflows, and helping teams optimize CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment speed and reliability. A significant portion of their time will be devoted to embedding security, compliance, and governance into every design, collaborating with InfoSec and Risk teams to apply Zero Trust principles, strengthen identity and access controls, and ensure regulatory requirements are met. They will continuously monitor and review cloud workloads for performance, availability, and cost, driving FinOps practices, rightsizing resources, and making recommendations to improve resilience through high-availability and disaster recovery strategies. In addition, the architect will regularly present solution options, trade-offs, and status updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including leadership, while mentoring junior engineers and architects to uplift cloud skills across the organization and championing innovation in areas like AI, automation, and modern application architectures.

Skills and Requirements

5-10+ years of hands‑on experience working in Azure cloud environments, including IaaS, PaaS, networking, and security.

Strong proficiency with DevOps and automation tools such as GitHub Enterprise, Terraform, ARM templates, and configuration management tools like Ansible.

Deep understanding of cloud networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancing, routing, SD-WAN, and enterprise application networking.

Proven experience designing highly available and disaster‑resilient architectures, including multi-region HA/DR solutions.

Demonstrated ability to lead cloud migration or modernization projects from assessment through implementation.

Experience developing or enforcing cloud security, compliance, and governance aligned with Zero Trust, identity management, and data protection best practices. Experience with AWS or Google Cloud Platform in addition to Azure.

Background working in manufacturing applications or industrial systems.

Familiarity with Well-Architected Frameworks and multi‑tenant architectural design.

Experience supporting or leading cloud strategy efforts in M&A integrations.

Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect, or GCP Professional Cloud Architect.
