Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Supply Chain Category Manager sitting in Hanover, MD supporting a global manufacturing company. This individual will own strategic sourcing category and act as the primary point of contact for supplier strategy, market intelligence, and procurement decisions. You'll work closely with Engineering, Production, R&D, and Product teams to identify suppliers, negotiate contracts, resolve quality and delivery issues, optimize cost and lead times, and develop long-term sourcing strategies that support business growth and operational excellence.

This is a highly visible role where you'll essentially run your sourcing category like your own business. You'll partner with technical and business stakeholders to drive supplier strategy, improve operational performance, negotiate key contracts, and influence product and sourcing decisions. It's a great fit for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working cross-functionally, and making a direct impact on cost, quality, delivery, and overall business results.

This is a direct hire opportunity - salary ranging from $80,000 - $120,000 based off experience.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or category management experience Strong supplier management and contract negotiation skills Experience partnering with Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, and Product teams Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities Excellent communication and presentation skills Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Willingness to travel up to 30% Category management experience Mechanical hardware, industrial equipment, or manufacturing background Contract development and execution experience PLM system experience Global sourcing and supplier management experience
