Coordinator, Shift Security

OPPD is seeking a Coordinator, Shift Security to join our Protective Services Team. This role functions as the sergeant in charge of security across the district serving as the primary responder to field assistance needs, the central point of coordination for external law enforcement officers, and a key support during emergencies and critical events. If you enjoy coordinating protective operations, supporting security personnel, solving problems, and ensuring the safety of people, assets, and infrastructure throughout the community, this could be an exciting opportunity.

This is a hands-on, highly visible role where no two days are the same. You will administer shift level security operations, maintain equipment readiness, lead shift briefings, and support OPPD's mission to deliver safe, reliable, and responsible service.

The Impact You Will Have

Independently manage routine security responsibilities with accuracy, efficiency, and sound judgment.

Lead shift briefings to relay operating status, upcoming events, procedural changes, and situational updates.

Conduct routine inspections to verify uniform standards, equipment readiness, and proper performance of duties at assigned posts

Communicate critical security events or conditions to the Security Manager and designated leadership when escalation is required.

Direct response actions during emergencies or after-hours incidents, coordinating with OPPD operations and local law enforcement.

Maintain complete and accurate records, logs, and documentation in alignment with OPPD policy and regulatory standards.

What You Will Bring

Demonstrated ability to successfully complete essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Must qualify to obtain and maintain unescorted NERC access.

Valid driver's license to operate company vehicles.

What Will Help You Stand Out

Associate's degree in Criminology, Communication, Security, and/ or relevant military background.

ASIS certification(s).

1 to 3 years of progressively responsible security experience, ideally in a shift-based or operational environment.

1 to 3 years of informal or formal leadership experience.

Strong capability to manage shift responsibilities independently with consistent execution and judgment.

Broad knowledge of physical security operations, emergency response procedures, equipment standards, and documentation practices.

Experience leading shift briefings, coordinating response efforts, and communicating operational updates.

Ability to work collaboratively with security personnel, site leadership, and external partners such as law enforcement.

Schedule

Monday through Thursday, 9pm to 7am - Days off Friday, Saturday & Sunday .

Salary/Wage

Level - S2

Min - $73,005

Midpoint - $91,313
