Full job description

We are seeking an Audio Integration Active Sound Engineer (AIAS) to support the development, integration, validation, and production of audio and active sound systems across multiple vehicle programs.

The engineer will work closely with internal engineering teams, Vehicle Function teams, and suppliers to plan, design, develop, validate, and troubleshoot audio and active sound systems throughout the product lifecycle.

Location: Auburn Hills, MI

Work Model: Onsite

Pay Rate: $28–$30/hr on W2

Start Date: Immediate

Key Responsibilities

  • Own audio and active sound system development, validation, and integration at the vehicle, system, and component levels.

  • Work with internal engineering teams and suppliers to plan, design, develop, and validate audio and active sound systems.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve audio system integration issues throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Ensure audio and active sound systems are ready for production launch .

  • Support ongoing serial-life and quality activities .

  • Collaborate with Vehicle Function (VF) and Core Functional Technical Specification (CFTS) writers to align internal specifications with each vehicle program's feature list.

  • Create and maintain system-level AIAS requirements and specification documentation , including EQs, CPDs, SGIDs, and related requirements.

  • Analyze vehicle program series cards and product grids to determine impacts on audio and active sound systems.

  • Identify opportunities for optimization and complexity reduction .

  • Support early program definition by providing input on system cost and development timing .

  • Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure proper integration of audio and active sound functionality within the vehicle.

  • Support technical reviews, validation activities, issue resolution, program milestones, and production readiness.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in the automotive industry .

  • Strong knowledge of automotive audio systems and audio modules .

  • Experience with audio system development, integration, testing, and validation .

  • Experience troubleshooting system-level and component-level integration issues .

  • Understanding of system requirements and technical specifications .

  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams and suppliers .

  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work onsite in Auburn Hills, MI .
