Description

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Practice Scheduler to join our team at Davis Vein and Vascular in Spring, TX.

Position Summary Provides direct customer service and ancillary services related to patient care, including but not limited to collaboration with the care coordination team, clinical team members, patients, and families to facilitate unmet healthcare needs within the context of the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model. Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates appointments and schedules for patients receiving care services.
  • Liaises between patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers to ensure timely and efficient scheduling.
  • Utilize scheduling software and systems to manage appointments, resources, and provider availability effectively.
  • Communicates with appointment details, including dates, times, and locations, to all relevant parties.
  • Verifies patient eligibility, insurance coverage, and authorization requirements for appointments.
  • Responds to patient inquiries and concerns regarding scheduling and appointments.
  • Collaborates with clinical staff to prioritize and schedule urgent or emergency appointments.
  • Maintains accurate records of scheduled appointments and patient information.
  • Coordinates transportation and other logistics for patients as needed.
  • Facilitates communication and coordination between different departments or care teams.
  • Monitors appointment attendance and follow up on missed appointments or scheduling conflicts.
  • Maintains a safe workplace by following established safety protocols, reporting hazards, and participating in required safety training.
  • When position requires travel to/from other locations, ensures vehicles are operated and maintained in compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Fosters a team-oriented environment by encouraging cooperation, providing support, and resolving conflicts constructively.
  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and respect in all interactions Follows processes and policies for the organization.
  • Reports to work as scheduled, ready to perform duties, and promptly notifies the supervisor of any attendance issues.
  • Adapts to changing priorities, processes, and business needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Working knowledge of EMR systems.
  • One (1) year of clinical experience in a front office /scheduling role.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • If the individual in the role will drive for work purposes, a current valid state driver’s license and required minimum auto insurance coverage.
  • Cardiology practice experience preferred
