The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Wildlife Conservation is recruiting for an Accountant 3/4 located in Anchorage or Juneau, Alaska!
What You Will Be Doing: This is an exciting opportunity to work in support of a mission of wildlife conservation, in an environment filled with diversity with a dedicated team of professionals. This position serves as the fiscal officer for the Division of Wildlife Conservation and is responsible for providing professional level oversight for finance, grants, and contracts. The position develops and implements accounting procedures, internal controls, and ensures that accounting information is complete and accurate, financial reports are reliable, and that the Division conducts itself in accordance with applicable state and federal financial laws, regulations, and policies. This is a flexibly staffed position.

The Working Environment You Can Expect: The job is located in the beautiful city of Juneau or Anchorage, Alaska with road access to glaciers, trails, and skiing. Both of which are diverse cities with a great culture. We are hybrid teleworking locations with staff working in and out of the office during the week.
Who We Are Looking For: We are interested in candidates who possess some or all of the following position specific competencies:
- Financial Management:(*) Prepares, justifies, and/or administers the budget for program areas; plans, administers, and monitors expenditures to ensure cost-effective support of programs and policies; assesses financial condition of an organization.
- Federal Funds Processing: Knowledge of methods and procedures for processing direct and reimbursable program funds (for example, automatic and funded reimbursements, interagency agreements, transfer appropriations), grants, loans, and credit programs.
- Grants Management Laws, Regulations, and Guidelines: Knowledge of principles, laws, regulations, policies, practices, and guidelines (for example, Executive Orders, Code of Federal Regulations, OMB circulars) of grant or agreement programs, including their order of precedence.

Other Information Some positions may require a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field and /or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). The requirement will be noted in the recruitment posting.
