Job Description

This individual will serve as a senior lead analyst supporting and coordinating critical accounting operations and month-end close activities. They will oversee reconciliation efforts, perform detailed financial analysis, investigate variances, review journal entries, and ensure accurate financial reporting. The role will act as a central point of contact across multiple teams, tracking close deliverables, escalating risks, driving issue resolution, and ensuring accounting activities remain compliant with internal controls and governance requirements. This person will also identify process improvement opportunities, support audit readiness efforts, and help guide junior team members through complex accounting matters while partnering closely with finance and business stakeholders. Pay will vary between 60 - 90/hr depending on experience.

Skills and Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting, financial reporting, reconciliation, or accounting advisory experience
  • Deep understanding of General Ledger accounting, month-end close processes, and complex reconciliations
  • Experience leading accounting workstreams or serving as the senior point person on high-visibility accounting projects
  • Strong background performing and reviewing account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis
  • Experience overseeing payment clearing accounts, cash reconciliations, and high-volume transaction review processes
  • Ability to evaluate reconciliation issues, assign priorities, and drive resolution efforts across multiple stakeholders
  • Strong SAP experience with ability to guide others in researching accounting transactions and identifying discrepancies
  • Advanced Excel capabilities and experience managing large reconciliation workbooks and project trackers
  • Experience coordinating deliverables, tracking project milestones, and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Ability to communicate findings, risks, and project status to Directors and senior accounting leadership
  • Experience reviewing work performed by analysts and ensuring documentation meets audit and governance standards
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage escalations and competing priorities Proven ability to identify process improvement opportunities and implement more efficient reconciliation procedures This individual will serve as the lead resource supporting a large payment clearing account remediation and reconciliation initiative. Rather than spending all day performing transaction-level research, this person will oversee the broader work effort, coordinate activities across team members, manage project priorities, and act as a primary liaison with Accounting leadership. They will review reconciliation results, assist with complex accounting issues, monitor progress against project milestones, communicate status updates to Directors and stakeholders, and help ensure reconciliation procedures are being executed consistently and accurately. While this role remains hands-on from an accounting perspective, the primary focus is driving project execution, reviewing work quality, resolving escalated issues, and ensuring the overall initiative remains on track.
