Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Sr S taff Manufacturing Systems Engineer . This position will be located in Roy, UT.

Job Description:

This role will support Production Operation Systems and Technology team. The role will be the system integration for the Production Operations Systems & Technologies . The preferred candidate will be an individual with a bias for action, strategic thinking, data analysis, problem-solving, exceptional customer focus, communications, and a sound foundation in Material Planning and Production Control practices. The qualified applicant will have a working knowledge and understanding of Manufacturing Engineering. The candidate must have knowledge and experience of the digital tools required for manufacturing. General skills and expectations within the role include:

  • Strong foundation in Manufacturing Systems fundamentals.

  • Experience in MBOMs, OBOM, Work Instructions

  • Proficient in the principles digital tools

  • Knowledge of manufacturing flows and their interface with shop floor and Global Supply Chain.

  • Develops cost/risk benefit summaries and recommendations for leadership.

  • Experience with Project Management and manufacturing schedules Software tools.

  • Understanding of schedule waterfall builds with setbacks to independent demands.

  • Utilizes process improvement methodology (e.g., value stream mapping, employee engagement techniques, flow reduction, etc.)

  • Experience with cost management (Earned Value, Milestone payments)

  • Experience with data analysis and/or data mining

  • Engage and collaborate with programs and functional organizations (from individual contributors to executive staff) to obtain, understand, and interpret manufacturing facilitation and scheduling requirements.

  • Proven ability to combine material flow management expertise with outstanding information knowledge. Experience with the financial aspects of the business.

  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. Seeking a critical role in developing and managing achievable production schedules for an entire factory servicing multiple businesses.

  • Ability to document, track, and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution.

  • Possess strong organizational, planning, and decision-making skills and the ability to work as a team member and with other members from different technical backgrounds.

  • Effective verbal and written communications skills

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 14 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors in Science STEM Degree; 12 Years with Masters; 10 Years with PhD

  • Must be U.S. Citizen with an Interim Security Clearance or the ability to obtain an interim Secret Security level clearance pre-start, with the ability to obtain a final Secret Security level clearance post-start within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need.

  • Strong experience using software for manufacturing (ERP, MES, PLM/PDM)

  • 4+ Years of experience of leading teams for software and/or process solutions

  • 4+ Years developing proposals for executive leadership & calculating ROI

  • Expert level skills in system architecture development

  • Experience deploying new digital tools and technologies

  • Experience developing proposals for executive leadership and calculating ROI

  • Strong experience in Manufacturing Systems

  • Must be detail oriented, organized, and demonstrate a high sense of urgency

  • Flexible work schedule to support out of service system testing.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Highly motivated self-starter, detail and quality oriented, and able to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced in Siemens CPLM, SAP S/4 Hana, SAP PEO & SmartMES

  • Experienced proposing new digital tools and capabilities

  • Experienced in deploying new software

  • Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel, Project, and PowerPoint

  • Experience in the performance of system integration testing

  • Experience writing functional specifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing setting

Primary Level Salary Range: $166,500.00 - $249,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
