Summary

This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Chief Information Officer, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. This announcement will close at 11:59 PM, on the day that 50 applications have been received or on the closing date, whichever is first.

Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Lead IT Cybersecurity Specialist, you will: Lead the Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) team by communicating organizational strategy, mission, and priorities; assigning and managing work; coaching staff on problem-solving and work methods; and balancing workloads to ensure timely completion of objectives. Serve as the principal cybersecurity and information security lead, coordinating the implementation and enforcement of security policies, integrating security programs, assessing system and network designs for risks, overseeing incident response activities, and ensuring compliance with security requirements. Analyze and synthesize cyber threat intelligence from multiple sources to identify risks, assess adversary capabilities and activities, detect and respond to cybersecurity events, evaluate vulnerabilities, and develop or recommend mitigation strategies. Manage cybersecurity projects and programs to achieve organizational objectives, coordinates and integrates cybersecurity activities, supervises and leads personnel, represents team findings and recommendations, and reports on performance, progress, and training needs. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Basic Qualifications: Applicants for the Information Technology Management series, 2210 at the GS-14 grade level must have Information Technology (IT) related experience which demonstrates proficiency in the following competencies: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Technical Competency - Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues. AND Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Leading or directing the work of a cyber threat intelligence team or analytical function, including assigning tasks, reviewing work products, and providing technical guidance to analysts. Conducting or directing all-source analysis of cyber threat data, integrating multiple intelligence disciplines, to assess relevance and impact to organizational networks and systems. Overseeing the production, review, and dissemination of finished cyber threat intelligence products tailored to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership. Leading and supervising CTI analysts; managing threat intelligence projects and programs supporting organizational objectives. Coordinating and integrating CTI activities across cyber operations and federal partners. Assigning work, mentor staff, and identify training needs, brief findings and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders; reporting on team performance, progress, and resource requirements.
