Schedule: Full time Shift: Day-Weekend (United States of America) Address: 501 REDMOND RD NW City: ROME State: Georgia Postal Code: 30165 Job Description:

Utilizes evaluation methods to determine the effectiveness of individual and overall programs. Ensures department compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. Writes and administers annual competencies, submitting documentation to Human Resources and Education departments. Uses performance improvement models to identify and resolve issues and improve outcomes within and between departments. Facilitates and coordinates continuing education opportunities for SPD employees. Identifies employee education needs through formal and informal assessments. Plans, develops, and implements educational programs for SPD staff. Teaches classes within areas of expertise such as decontamination, tray assembly, sterilization, case carting, supplies, and OR scheduling. Collects and interprets statistical data to improve departmental competency performance. Partners with all hospital departments to identify, improve, and implement best practices and protocols. Performs root cause analysis, makes recommendations, and develops training materials to reduce future defects. Researches current literature and standards to identify optimal learning experiences for staff. Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have comprehensive knowledge and experience in surgical instrumentation, microbiology as it relates to SPD and OR, cleaning procedure, disinfection, sterilization, and the care, handling, disassembly of hospital equipment and surgical instruments. [Required]
  • Knowledge of specific health care products, patient care equipment and basic use is required. [Preferred]
  • Must hold comprehensive knowledge in inventory control, supply distribution, receiving, reprocessing techniques and principles, production management and regulating agency standards. [Preferred]
  • Five years of responsible SPD experience and progressive work experiences in SPD and adult education learning and development positions. [Preferred]
  • Knowledge of operating room procedures, Joint Commission standards, American National Standard/Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation. [Preferred]

Education:

  • Associate [Preferred]
  • •Bachelor's [Preferred]
  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Field of Study:

  • Graduate of an accredited vocational school

Work Experience:

  • 2+ operating room experience [Preferred]
  • 5+ sterile processing with demonstrated teaching skills [Preferred]
  • Previous supervisory experience [Preferred]

  • Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) [Required] OR
  • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) [Required] OR

Pay Range:
