The P/T Technical Assistant/ Film Tech maintains the Film Department equipment collection and oversees the day-to-day operations of the department Mac lab.
Duties include

Tracking and updating equipment inventory via an electronic lending system on an ongoing basis.

Logging and updating student information; tracking equipment returns.

Performing routine maintenance, fixing or recommending replacement of broken equipment.

Setting up and breaking down equipment for classroom lesson plans.

Troubleshooting student and faculty issues with camera, light, and sound equipment from pre-production through post-production.

Overseeing day-to-day operations in the department Mac computer lab.

Supporting and assisting students working on film projects with issues ranging from editing video to exporting across a variety of software programs.

Reporting any issues with computers, printers, and projectors to IT/Media departments.

Other duties as assigned by the supervising faculty member.
Job Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a high school or equivalency diploma and one year of experience in area of specialty. The satisfactory completion of 30 credits in the area of specialty at a recognized college or university may be substituted for the experience. Demonstrated facility with a range of film equipment and Mac computer applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve; experience with inventory management and spreadsheets; experience in an educational setting.
Additional Information:
WORK SCHEDULE: The Film Tech will work a set schedule of approximately 20 hours per week during regular business hours from September to May.
POSITION EFFECTIVE: The position will remain open until filled.
HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $17.50/hour. No benefits.
