Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Operations Engineering Manager for a leading industrial manufacturing client. This individual will lead facility-wide operational excellence initiatives and drive continuous improvement efforts across the manufacturing value chain. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering leadership, lean manufacturing, and process optimization, while effectively managing resources, budgets, and cross-functional teams. This role will focus on improving operational performance, driving strategic initiatives, optimizing material and production flow, and ensuring customer expectations are exceeded. The Operations Engineering Manager will also play a key role in capital asset implementation, ERP utilization, and developing high-performing teams within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Day-to-Day:

  • Lead facility operational priorities to meet customer expectations and business objectives
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing value chain
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and process documentation
  • Monitor and improve KPIs, productivity, quality, and operational performance
  • Deploy demand-driven manufacturing strategies focused on flexibility, speed, and responsiveness
  • Optimize product, material, and information flow to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Allocate resources and staffing to achieve operational goals
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective actions
  • Lead strategic manufacturing and engineering initiatives
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to standardize processes and implement best practices
  • Act as SAP Super User and support ERP-related process improvements
  • Manage capital projects including equipment installation, startup, training, and production ramp-up
  • Mentor and develop engineering and operations personnel
  • Support long-range manufacturing and operational planning efforts

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Industrial Technology, or equivalent operations experience

  • Fabrication Experience

  • CNC Programming

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP

  • 5+ years of engineering management experience in a manufacturing environment

  • 3-5+ Experience leading process improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs

  • Experience working in fast-paced manufacturing environments with changing priorities

  • Ability to define resource needs, manage staffing requirements, and operate within budget constraints

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP

  • Strong understanding and application of Lean Manufacturing principles

  • Advanced Degree in Supply Chain Management or MBA

  • SAP Super User experience

  • Previous SAP or Oracle ERP experience

  • Experience in high mix, low volume production environments

  • Experience in high volume, low mix production environments

  • Sheet metal fabrication experience including: o Laser cutting o Punch operations o Press brake forming o Welding o Powder coating

  • Capital Asset Management experience

  • Experience installing and commissioning new manufacturing equipment

  • Experience training teams on newly implemented assets and processes

  • Multi-site manufacturing leadership experience
