City/State Norfolk, VA Work Shift First (Days) Overview: Sentara Health is looking to hire a Remote Patient Service Coordinator.

Patient Service Coordinator works in a collaborative role with Medicaid members and providers to improve health outcomes. Assists with gathering information for the health care team regarding barriers or other health information. Implements the interventions to promote improved health and compliance with recommended plan of care, as approved by the Health Care Team. This includes functions associated with the screening for changes in health status, coaching for improved self-management, reminders of necessary testing as determined by clinical guidelines, and support of the professional clinical staff in Health Care Services.

May serve as a key resource in supporting the clinical authorization processes, including insurance verification/obtaining pre-certification, scheduling, pre-registration and order transmission. Purpose is to ensure maximum reimbursement and reduce denials related to incomplete insurance information and/or authorization. Maintains statistics and acts as liaison between clinical testing sites and offices.

Education:

  • High School Diploma (required)

Experience:

  • Prior Healthcare experience (required)

The base pay range for full-time employment is $21.88 - $31.68 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
