Job Details:

Job Description: Manages EDA license operations, governance, compliance, and optimization to ensure reliable access to critical design tools across hardware engineering teams. Defines and executes license management processes for major EDA suppliers, including entitlement tracking, usage analysis, cost optimization, audit readiness, and contract compliance. Addresses complex compliance challenges such as reconciling supplier entitlements against actual tool usage, preventing over-deployment or unauthorized access, validating geographic and business-unit usage restrictions, managing license transfers during reorganizations or divestitures, ensuring usage-reporting accuracy, and preparing defensible documentation for supplier audits. Required to migrate the license environment to SLES15, ensuring testing of end users' scripts and automation workflows to improve license visibility, reduce manual effort, and enable data-driven decision-making. Partners with design, contract manager, procurement, finance, legal, IT, and EDA vendors to support tool enablement, license planning, renewal strategy, and business continuity. Builds deep understanding of EDA tool usage, licensing models, supplier agreements, and operational controls to ensure scalable, compliant, and cost-effective license management across technology programs.

Qualifications: Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4-12 years of Experience managing EDA license operations, license servers, vendor daemons, or engineering tool infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of EDA licensing models, entitlement tracking, usage analysis, renewals, and supplier compliance.
  • Experience supporting audits, entitlement reconciliation, usage validation, and compliance documentation.
  • Ability to analyze license data, identify optimization opportunities, and communicate risks or recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Experience partnering with design, procurement, contract management, finance, legal, IT, and suppliers.
  • Experience with FlexNet/FLEXlm, Linux/SLES license environments, vendor daemon upgrades, or license migrations. *Experience in Linux and Unix.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with major EDA suppliers such as Synopsys, Cadence, Siemens EDA, Ansys, Keysight, or Arm.
  • Experience building dashboards, databases, scripts, or automation for license visibility, usage monitoring, compliance, or renewals.
  • Knowledge of complex licensing models, including token-based, named-user, geographic, business-unit, cloud, or royalty-based licensing.
  • Ability to translate license data into executive summaries, risk assessments, and supplier negotiation inputs.
