Pay or shift range: $17 USD to $19.44 USD
The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, shift, benefit selection or other job-related reasons.

Maintenance AssistantRate: $17- $19.44/hour (depending on experience)Shift: Part TimeSchedule: 3 pm - 11 pm, every other weekend
Chautauqua Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is looking to add a Maintenance Assistant to its team. In this role, you’ll help maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment throughout the facility by performing routine maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance, and groundskeeping duties. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep throughout the facility and grounds

Complete work orders and non-routine projects, including painting, drywall repairs, floor care, plumbing repairs, electrical repairs, ceiling tile replacement, and window repairs
-
Maintain exterior areas, parking lots, green spaces, and assist with snow removal and salting as needed
-
Collect and transport trash, soiled linens, and other materials throughout the facility
-
Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on equipment, including patient lifts, oxygen concentrators, suction machines, laundry equipment, wheelchairs, generators, and other facility systems

Conduct fire drills, fire extinguisher inspections, water temperature testing, and sharps container inspections

Report maintenance concerns, equipment malfunctions, and safety hazards promptly

Assist with facility security and support continuous quality improvement initiatives

If assigned, provide transportation services using facility vehicles in accordance with NYS regulations and facility procedures

Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent
-
Minimum experience requirement: 6 months of experience in a cleaning or maintenance position; 1 year of experience in a cleaning or maintenance position preferred

Valid NYS Driver's License required

Basic knowledge of building maintenance, repairs, tools, and equipment

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Ability to safely lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies
