Location: Novi, Michigan (48374)

Schedule: Mid Shift (10am), Year-Round

Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Pay: $17.75/hour

Position Overview

We are looking for a dependable, hands-on Hybrid Custodial Maintenance Tech Apprentice to help maintain, repair, and improve school buildings and facilities at Novi Community Schools .

This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in keeping buildings safe, functional, and well maintained. This position is ideal for someone looking to grow their skills in building maintenance. The apprentice will work alongside experienced maintenance staff to learn preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair procedures.

Key Responsibilities - Custodial & Maintenance

• Climbing ladders for maintenance tasks

• Lawn care and snow removal as needed

• Ceiling tile and light fixture replacement

• Basic painting and drywall repair skills

• HVAC system upkeep including filter changes and motor maintenance

• General equipment maintenance and repair

• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal

• Cleaning classrooms, restrooms, offices, breakrooms, hallways, and other common areas

• Sanitizing high-touch surfaces to help maintain a healthy environment

• Restocking supplies and maintaining cleaning equipment

• Assisting with room setups and special event needs

What We're Looking For

• Previous HVAC experience or vocational training preferred

• Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and equipment

• Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work

• Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic
