Non-Teaching Adjunct, Level 1 - Office of Institutional Advancement and Communications

GENERAL DUTIES

Completes non-teaching projects or complex work in support of a Campus or University administrative or academic department. This work is generally of a temporary nature and requires specialized experience or expertise.

The Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY) is the focal point for advanced teaching and research at CUNY, the nation's largest urban public university. With over 35 doctoral and master's programs of the highest caliber, the Graduate Center fosters pioneering research and scholarship in the arts and sciences and prepares students for careers in universities and the private, nonprofit, and government sectors. The Graduate Center's commitment to research and scholarship for the public good is exemplified by its more than 30 centers, institutes, and initiatives, including its Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC), a 200,000 square-foot facility in upper Manhattan, designed to promote collaboration among scientists in five areas of global research and innovation: nanoscience, photonics, structural biology, neuroscience, and environmental sciences.

The Graduate Center (GC) benefits from highly ambitious and diverse students and alumni-who in turn teach hundreds of thousands of undergraduates every year. The Graduate Center’s Office of Institutional Advancement partners with academic programs and GC centers and institutes to strengthen a culture of philanthropy across the school and increase private gifts in support of institutional priorities.

The Office of Institutional Advancement and Communications seeks a Non-Teaching Adjunct, Level 1. This is a part-time role reporting to the Director of Individual Giving and to the Advancement Administrative Director. This position is for 225 hours for the fall semester, 225 hours for the spring semester, and 100 hours for the summer.

  • Lead data-driven engagement and fundraising through analytics, targeted lists, and ensuring the delivery of tailored communications

  • Work with colleagues to design responsive giving pages based on analytics and best practices

  • Work with the Director of Individual Giving and Director of Alumni Relations to establish a digital marketing strategy and email communication plan

  • Create and monitor metrics to measure donor and alumni participation in Graduate Center programming, messaging, and other engagement efforts

  • Ensure precise CRM records of activities, events, and alumni interactions

  • Assist with the creation, execution, and evaluation of donor and alumni events

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with experience in data management, analysis, and interpretation

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Strong attention to details and consistent work quality.

COMPENSATION

$60.78/hr

CUNY offers a comprehensive benefits package to employees and eligible dependents based on job title and classification. Employees are also offered pension and Tax-Deferred Savings Plans. Part-time employees must meet a weekly or semester work hour criteria to be eligible for health benefits. Health benefits are also extended to retirees who meet the eligibility criteria.
