Engineering Technician - Submarine Towed Array Systems
Location: Groton, CT
Security Clearance: Active Secret Clearance Required
ZAI is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to support submarine towed array systems operations in Groton, Connecticut. This position is ideal for a skilled professional with extensive hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and operating submarine acoustic systems in support of fleet readiness and mission success.
Key Responsibilities

Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair submarine towed array systems and associated equipment.

Support system readiness, performance assessments, and maintenance activities.

Work with submarine systems including:

TB-16
-
TB-29
-
TB-34
-
OK-276
-
OA-9070
-
Participate in and support:
-
Total Ship Readiness Assessments (TSRAs)
-
Combat System Assessments (CSAs)
-
In-Service Material Inspections (INSURVs)

Provide technical expertise and support to customers and project teams.

Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with applicable technical standards.
Required Qualifications
-
U.S. Citizenship required.
-
Active Secret Security Clearance required.

High School Diploma or equivalent.
-
Minimum 8 years of submarine engineering or related technical experience.

Demonstrated experience with submarine towed array systems maintenance and operation.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and customer support abilities.
-
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
-
Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience supporting TSRAs, CSAs, and INSURV inspections.
-
Prior Navy or submarine force experience with acoustic or combat systems.
Compensation
In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $70,000.00 to $85,000.00; however, ZAI considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
