What you get to do:
This role is a full time position to assist with current environmental needs. Responsibilities/duties include:
- Conduct various regulatory environmental and safety inspections (i.e., weekly, monthly, quarterly) including but not limited to fire extinguishers, emergency eyewash/shower stations, grease bine, emergency generators and other bulk containers/tanks.
- Assist with collecting/sorting universal waste such as toners, lamps and batteries
- Assist with responding to environmental incidents (e.g., oil spills), fire emergencies, and other safety related incidents.
- Assist with fire drills and other emergency drills to ensure compliance with local, state, Federal and SEA guidelines.
- Assist with EHS Special Projects and other duties as assigned.
What it takes to succeed:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Environmental, Health and/or Safety related experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of fire safety equipment (i.e., fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, fire alarms, fire suppression systems) is a plus.
- Consistently practice safe work habits including, but not limited to, the use of personal protective equipment and proper lifting techniques, and reporting of unsafe conditions.
- Working knowledge of computers and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Excel, Word, and Power Point).
- Certified or able to become certified in Safety department training programs (i.e., Intelex).
- Strong analytical aptitude.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to appropriately manage confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to handle multiple and varied tasks in a team environment.
- Physically able to walk distances, climb lengthy stair cases, bend, and lift objects of various weights up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and work for prolonged periods of time in extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to positively interact with park guests and co-workers of all ages, different ethnic/cultural backgrounds and/or language, and individuals with special needs.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays
What else is important:
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Some college coursework preferred.
- Previous theme park experience preferred.
- OSHA 10 preferred.
