Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Description

An innovative company specializing in custom manufacturing services is seeking a dedicated Senior Accountant to support its financial operations. This full-time position in Libertyville is integral to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the company's financial records and ensuring timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and post accurate journal entries in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies.

  • Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.

  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.

  • Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting.

  • Review invoices and purchase-order activity for appropriate accounting treatment.

  • Support customer invoicing, cash application, and collection activities.

  • Maintain accounting records and support documentation in accordance with company policies.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting accuracy.

  • Work closely with various departments to resolve accounting and transaction-related issues.

Essential Skills

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis.

  • Experience with ERP systems.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.

  • 35+ years of progressive accounting experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or a multi-entity environment is a plus.

  • Experience supporting AP, AR, purchasing, financial reporting, and external audits preferred.

  • CPA-track candidate is a plus but not required.

  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as Sage, JobBOSS, QuickBooks is a plus.

Work Environment

This position requires 100% onsite presence, Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM. The work environment includes a very clean and quiet manufacturing floor attached to the office. The role involves collaborating with an AR Specialist, an AP Specialist, and other team members across various locations. The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller, with ties to the CFO.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Libertyville, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
