Facility:Dayton Children's - Main CampusDepartment:Perioperative Services - Main Campus IISchedule:Full timeHours:40Job Details:A registered professional nurse who is an expert in a specific area of pediatric intraoperative nursing. The Service Line Coordinator (SLC) provides orientation and continuing educational opportunities to other perioperative staff regarding the specific service. In collaboration with the physician, the SLC keeps informed of new and progressive techniques and instrumentation to give the patient the optimum care with the best outcome from the surgical intervention. Responsible for providing direct perioperative patient care utilizing AORN, ASPAN, and OSHA standards of practice. Collaborates with other healthcare team members to meet the patients/families needs in a cost-effective manner. Provides customer service for the patients/families, nurses, physicians, equipment representatives, and other healthcare team members. Functions as a team player and practices open communication with a positive flexible attitude. Assists in meeting departmental goals by participating in quality improvement activities. The scope of practice for the SLC perioperative nurse is diverse and flexible and may include role model, change agent, research, delegation, education, coaching, and patient advocate.

Department Specific Job Details:

Hours: M-F 8 hour shifts ( call is required ) must reside within 30 mins from Main Campus

REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, graduation from an accredited program of nursing, 1 year experience in perioperative service area, RN Licensure in the State of Ohio, current CPR certification, professional certification within 3 years of hire, and communication/customer service/computer skills.
