Licensed Mental Health Clinician

Job Duties

Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis

Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments including mental status examinations, psychosocial histories, and risk assessments for mental health conditions

Formulate accurate diagnoses using the DSM-5 and develop individualized, person-centered treatment plans with measurable goals

Complete intake evaluations and determine appropriate levels of care based on clinical needs

Therapeutic Services

Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, etc.)

Deliver brief, solution-focused interventions for prevention and health promotion

Facilitate crisis intervention, safety planning, and risk management for clients in acute distress

Monitor client progress throughout treatment and modify treatment plans as clinically indicated

Documentation and Compliance

Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA and state regulations

Complete progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries within required timeframes

Ensure documentation meets payer requirements and supports billing and utilization management

Collaboration and Coordination

Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case consultations

Coordinate care with primary care providers, psychiatrists, case managers, and community agencies

Make appropriate referrals to psychiatric, psychological, and community resources

Provide psychoeducation to clients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and coping strategies

Additional Responsibilities

Maintain a manageable caseload and meet productivity standards

Adhere to professional ethics, licensing board standards, and organizational policies

Participate in supervision, training, and professional development activities

May provide clinical consultation and training to staff as appropriate

Minimum Education Required

Master's degree in one of the following (or a closely related field) from an accredited institution:

Master of Social Work (MSW)

Master of Arts/Science in Counseling (e.g., Clinical Mental Health Counseling)

Master of Science in Psychology (clinical or counseling track)

Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT)

Minimum Experience Required

Proven experience providing psychotherapy and clinical counseling to diverse populations. Experience working with adults, seniors, and individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder is preferred.
