Responsibilities:

Supports & assists the Pharmacist in the medication use process by providing safe and efficient medication management & patient care to patients (neonate to geriatric), physicians, employees, and the public.

Requires following appropriate guidelines under the supervision of the pharmacist for medication preparation and distribution.

Functions in an environment which requires teamwork and flexibility to provide medications to patients.

Responsibilities include IV admixture, assisting the pharmacist with the dispensing of medications, maintaining medications in unit-based cabinets, taking verbal refill approvals from provider'soffices, insurance verification, working with technology, and deliveries of medications.

Qualifications

Required:

Active National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board(PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association(NHA)

AND one of:

Pharmacy Technician (PHT), KY OR Pharmacy Intern (PHI), KY

Desired:

1 year experience working in pharmacy.

High School Diploma or GED
