Summary: Craig Technologies has an opening for a CoECI Community Management Specialist at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will provide critical expertise and hands-on management of our online community platforms and forums in support of the NASA Center of Excellence for Collaborative Innovation (CoECI). You will lead day-to-day moderation, engagement, and growth efforts to build and sustain an active, positive member community. Applicants must have strong communication skills, be comfortable with platform administration and technical troubleshooting, be data-driven with attention to engagement metrics, and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

You Will:

  • Manage the online community/forum platforms, overseeing day-to-day operations from member engagement to platform administration.

  • Moderate discussions and enforce community guidelines to maintain a positive, respectful environment.

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow membership and increase active participation across the community.

  • Plan and publish content, including announcements, discussion prompts, and newsletters, to drive engagement.

  • Track engagement metrics and analyze trends to inform community strategy and report to leadership.

  • Troubleshoot technical platform issues and coordinate with IT/dev teams on fixes, upgrades, and integrations.

  • Identify and recommend process improvements and best practices for community management and platform tools.

  • Serve as a liaison between the community and internal teams, surfacing member feedback and escalating issues as needed.

  • Support onboarding and training of new members to ensure a smooth entry into the community.

  • Coordinate with communications/public affairs teams on messaging and outreach related to the community.

  • Attend and/or present at conferences, meetings, or events related to community management as required.

What You Bring:

You bring experience in community management, platform administration, and member engagement. You use your experience and judgment to moderate discussions, grow and sustain an active community, and respond to member needs in ways that keep the community healthy and engaged.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS degree in Communications, Marketing, or equivalent discipline or experience

  • 5 years of relevant community management experience with increasing levels of responsibility

  • Prior experience moderating and administering an online forum, social platform, or membership community

  • Prior experience developing and executing member growth or outreach strategies

  • Familiarity with forum/platform administration, user permissions, and basic technical troubleshooting

  • Prior experience tracking and reporting on engagement metrics

YOUR SKILLS:

  • Proven ability to build and grow an engaged online community

  • Proven ability to learn and adapt to multiple software tools, such as Microsoft Office products, Google Workspace, and forum/community platforms

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction

This position is a fully remote/teleworking position. Occasional travel may be required.
