MECHANICAL SHOP SPEC (SUBSAFE)

Summary

You will serve as a MECHANICAL SHOP SPECIALIST (SUBSAFE) in the Production Resources Department (c900) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. PAY SETTING GS-12: $93,445 - $121,482 GS-11: $77,964 - $101,359

Duties

• You will advise and instruct mechanics and supervisors on proper methods and procedures to be used to accomplish the work in accordance with SUBSAFE/REC program.
• You will develop, analyze, evaluate, advise on, or improve the effectiveness of work methods and procedures, organizations, distribution of work assignments, management controls, information and documentation systems.
• You will conduct internal audits of significant scope and mission impact.
• You will perform periodic scheduled inspections, testing, and emergent deficiency inspections and tests of mechanical, hydraulic, structural, electronic, and electrical components and systems on nuclear and non-nuclear Sub Systems.
• You will provide training feedback and review of training material to ensure the Shipyard has ample personnel qualified and certified to perform duties of the Mechanical Shop.
• You will serve as a consultant and authority to higher level management on SUBSAFE policy and procedures for the Mechanical Shop.

Qualifications

GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting studies, reviews, evaluations, or preparation of service requirements to provide recommendations on work practices to maintain water-tight integrity of sub systems and equipment. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing or evaluating inspection results to provide recommendations and subsequent training to increase overall program effectiveness of sub systems and equipment. Education
