LTS 1:1 Teacher Assistant

This is a long-term sub position in the Middle School. Hours are 7:25am - 2:55pm, Monday - Friday. Start ASAP

Responsibilities:

• Working with individual pupils or groups of pupils on special instructional projects as defined by classroom teachers.

• Providing the teacher with information about pupils, which will assist the teacher in the development of appropriate learning experiences.

• Assisting pupils in the use of available instructional resources, and assisting in the development of instructional materials.

• Participating in in-service training programs as assigned.

• Maintaining the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully certified teachers.

• Assisting in related instructional work and evaluation as required by teachers.

• Planning lesson and units in conjunction with the classroom teachers.

• Assist with educational support and classroom transitions of identified special education students.

• Offer behavioral support to identified students when disruptions occur.

• Assist monitoring the identified students in the cafeteria on a regular/as needed basis.

• Carrying out any other assigned duties deemed appropriate by the Administration and the Board of Education.

Job Qualifications

Teacher Assistant Certification, required
