Job Description :

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Assesses, prepares, and provides nursing care to patients; provides ongoing care in collaboration with multiple physicians; provides and develops educational opportunities for staff and monitors outcomes.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assesses, develops, and administers plan of care, completes appropriate documentation and ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies. (35%)

  • Communicates with attending physician regarding plan of care and involves physician in clinical decision making of any issues that are outside the RN's knowledge base or scope of practice. (20%)

  • Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on individual needs. (20%)

  • Communicates and coordinates patient care with patient, family, community health services and interdisciplinary team. (15%)

  • Coordinates administrative functions for the Program, which may include staffing coverage and/or participating in marketing activities. (5%)

  • Participates in the development and implementation of departmental and hospital performance improvement activities. (5%)

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)

  • Program area certification and/or CEU may be required.

  • 1-3 year(s) of experience in field of specialty.

Preferred

  • BSN

Additional Employment Requirements:

  • CPR – American Heart Association

  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate

  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
