Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students in a 5th-8th Grade Resource classroom in Tonopah, AZ. This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative school community while enjoying a 4-day work week and making a meaningful impact on students' academic growth and success.
The ideal candidate is a team-oriented educator who is committed to supporting students with diverse learning needs, collaborating with staff and families, and helping students build the skills and confidence needed to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities

Provide specialized instruction to students receiving special education services.

Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, families, and support staff.

Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs.

Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational records.

Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.

Foster an inclusive, structured, and supportive learning environment.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
-
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Valid state teaching certification as required by state and district regulations.
-
Special Education Teaching Certification preferred and may be required by the district.

Minimum of one year of teaching experience preferred.
-
Current CPR certification, if applicable.
-
TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, if applicable.
-
Current health certificate, if required.
-
Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Compliance with all professional standards of practice.
