Full job description

Job Summary: Must have positive people skills and a can-do attitude. You will need to plan, layout and preform a wide variety of preventive maintenance at the hospital and affiliate buildings. You will travel to multiple affiliate buildings providing preventative maintenance. Order material as needed in advance to complete preventative maintenance task. Preform corrective maintenance necessary to complete maintenance needed in a timely manner. Preform PM duties and other responsibilities as required by your managers. Work with other trades as necessary. Always keep areas clean and neat in appearance. Assist with scheduling utility shutdowns due to construction and or maintenance needs. Monitor any contract work in these areas to ensure work is accomplished properly and cleanup is complete. Assist managers with regulatory code issues. Report promptly all defective equipment to managers. Ability to read schematics and electrical and mechanical drawings. Work with state and city personal to keep the hospital and affiliate buildings compliant with regulatory documentation. Maintain documentation electronically and hard copy to ensuring all maintenance and regulatory documentation is tracked and saved properly. Preform preventive maintenance on all hospital vehicles and assure all are safe to operate and inspections are up to date.

Qualify for on call, weekend and off shift relief work.

Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred. Must be multi-talented with at least two years of specialized training as an electrician, plumber, carpenter, HVAC technician, or maintenance technician or related trades. At least three additional years of experience in a health care or industrial setting as an electrician, plumber, mechanic, carpenter II, or HVAC technician preferred. Must be familiar with electrical codes, installation methods, motors, and motor driven equipment and motor control wiring and troubleshooting, basic mechanical principals, boilers, motors, and motor driven equipment. Must be able to understand and perform the preventive maintenance task. Have a very good knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and mechanical work. Must be able to read and understand prints, schematics and other technical drawings as required to perform duties. Capable of lifting fifty-pound weight, and physically able to do the job. Electrical, HVAC or Plumbing license preferred. Have a valid North Carolina Driver’s License with no restrictions other than prescription eyeglasses or contacts. Must be capable of climbing of any ladder(s) or scaffolding necessary to perform assigned duties. Must be able to work with state and city personal and maintain regulatory documentation. Must be capable of recognizing wiring color codes. Basic PC skills using Windows operating systems preferred. Also need to be able to work with Metasys, Tridium, AeroScout and Data Logger systems.
