Job Description
The Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) team is responsible for creating marketplace demand and driving commerce for American Express products and services through differentiated and innovative branding, marketing, and experiences.

We are focused on developing forward-thinking ideas and work across channels, end-to-end experiences in digital and beyond. We are seeking a Studio Designer within our Design Studio.
The role of Designer, Design Studio-Onbrand , reporting to the Creative Director, Design Studio, will be responsible for supporting the design and production of best-in-class creative and marketing communications, partnering closely with Creative Directors, Art Directors and Senior Designers. As a key member of the creative team, the Studio Designer will help deliver polished, high-quality work for clients with high expectations for craft, accuracy and execution.
This is a design implementation and production-focused role requiring exceptional attention to detail, precision and consistency. The ideal candidate is highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work efficiently and independently, and exercise strong time management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced creative environment.
Responsibilities

Leverage the brand’s visual identity to design multi-channel marketing creative across a wide range of print and digital materials.

Support creative development and design production across digital, print, packaging, branding, and visual identity initiatives.

Visually communicate design concepts clearly.
-
Act as a creative advocate by staying current on design, marketing, creative AI, and production trends, thoughtfully incorporating them into work.

Produce digital and print-ready files using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Figma, collaborating closely with creative and production partners to ensure optimal digital output or print execution.

Adjust and refine artwork in Photoshop as needed, including resizing, color correction, and basic image retouching.

Collaborate closely with Designers, Art Directors, Creative Directors, and in-house production teams.

Deliver high-quality work efficiently while managing timelines and deadlines.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously, effectively prioritizing tasks to meet business needs.

Maintain organized files and documentation, including version control and archival best practices.

Advocate for the customer by providing thoughtful creative guidance to internal partners.

Actively contribute to a strong, positive, and innovative internal creative culture.
Qualifications
-
1–4 years of professional design experience, preferably within an agency environment, with a focus on multi-channel marketing journeys.
-
Execute high-volume design production and asset versioning, adapting creative across formats, sizes, channels, and deliverables while maintaining design integrity and consistency.

Perform rigorous design QA and output quality checks across large volumes of assets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand and production standards.

Maintain disciplined file management and version control, including clear naming conventions, file organization, and accurate tracking of asset versions.

Strong proficiency in Figma, with demonstrated experience designing, building, and producing high-quality digital creative within the platform.
-
Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat; After Effects a plus) and Microsoft Office.

Comfort using and learning emerging creative AI tools and technologies, with curiosity and a willingness to incorporate new capabilities into the creative process.

Deep knowledge of and proficiency in PowerPoint; strong PowerPoint presentation design and formatting skills are a plus.
-
Image retouching experience; advanced retouching capabilities are a plus.
-
Experience with motion design workflows is a plus, ranging from asset optimization and handoff to hands-on work in Adobe After Effects.

Proven ability to implement brand guidelines and deliver impactful designs across digital, traditional, and experiential channels.

Emerging expertise across digital design (banners, landing pages, email), social (static and motion), branding/visual identity, print, and design production (versioning, resizing, compression, file management).

Strong knowledge of printing processes, techniques, color models, and file formats.
-
Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and time management, with the ability to prioritize and deliver high-quality work across multiple concurrent projects and tight deadlines.
-
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present work clearly in internal reviews and stakeholder meetings.

Strong understanding of color theory and typography.
-
Ability to collaborate effectively with creative team members and contribute positively to a strong creative culture.
-
Experience designing for and innovating within content management systems is a plus.
-
Familiarity with Digital Asset Management systems is a plus (e.g., Frontify).

Experience working with project management tools is a plus (e.g., Workfront).

This is an Atlanta-based role with a hybrid work schedule requiring three days per week in office.
