About the Position
We are seeking an one-year interim HS Literature teacher who we anticipate will have a 50 - 70% teaching load.
Faculty must be academically prepared and highly effective at teaching and designing curriculum for a rotating block course schedule of three 80-minute periods per 6-day cycle, along with a weekly 80-minute tutorial/studio period for additional individual or small group instruction. Faculty must be adept at using technology for teaching and learning
Working closely with the Grade Dean, School Counselor, college counselor, Learning Specialist, school chaplain, Dean of Faculty, department chair and High School Division Head, teachers are part of a collaborative, team-based structure with a high level of communication and collegiality. Active participation in a faculty culture of continuous learning, professional development, and intellectual growth is expected
This role will include teaching two sections of Literature of the Americas, a one-semester elective on “Love and Heartbreak in Literature” and two sections of World Religions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree or beyond is preferred.
Compensation
This is a full-time faculty position with an expected base salary of $34,000–$108,528 commensurate with education and experience on the faculty salary scale.
