The Medical Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Northside Hospital Gwinnett is a 24-bed intermediate care unit dedicated to providing high-intensity nursing care for patients who require close monitoring but do not meet ICU criteria. This fast-paced environment is ideal for nurses with strong assessment skills, critical thinking abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.The diverse patient population allows nurses to gain experience with a wide range of diagnoses, including sepsis, respiratory failure, GI bleeding, stroke, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), behavioral health conditions, and alcohol withdrawal. Responsibilities
The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.

Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED:
-
BSN degree
-
Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
-
Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units.
-
Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
Work Hours: 6:45pm-7:15am Weekend Requirements: Yes
