Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care within his/her scope of practice within the Subacute setting. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in the Subacute Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He/she communicates with physicians, the Subacute Unit Director, Charge RN, and/or co-workers about changes in the patient?s clinical condition including cardiac and respiratory monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Works with other departments and co-workers to provide quality patient care across the continuum, efficient patient flow, unit maintenance and organization. Responsible for adherence to regulations, standards and hospital or unit policies and procedures. Participates actively in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings and in-services. Acts as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • Current and valid state Registered Nurse license.

  • Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain current.

  • Minimum six (6) months experience in Acute or Subacute care setting.

  • Current ACLS (AHA) certificate upon hire preferred.

  • Current PALS (AHA) certificate upon hire preferred.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Encino Hospital Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that provides employees the flexibility to tailor benefits according to their individual needs. Benefits may vary based on collective bargaining agreement requirements and/or the employment status, i.e. full-time or part-time. The current compensation range for this role is $40.41 to $69.32. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
