Full job description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description

Perform efficient and effective maintenance activities to maximize safe production of quality products, minimize costs, and protect the environment. Responsible for maintaining and repairing all manufacturing equipment, including experience with equipment breakdown and repair. Duties include rebuilding large gearboxes, aligning pumps, and performing other rotary equipment rebuilds. Troubleshoot, fabricate, install, repair, calibrate, check, and adjust equipment, controls, facilities parts, and services to maintain the highest level of utilization. Understanding and troubleshooting of low voltage electrical systems from 480V up to 4160V is required, along with the ability to unwire and rewire equipment for maintenance and perform basic instrument troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Rebuild large gearboxes and align pumps.

  • Troubleshoot and repair various manufacturing equipment.

  • Install, repair, and calibrate equipment and controls.

  • Maintain a high level of equipment utilization.

  • Understand and troubleshoot low voltage electrical systems.

  • Unwire and rewire equipment for maintenance purposes.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with electrical and mechanical systems for a minimum of 2 years.

  • Proficiency in equipment breakdown and repair.

  • Ability to troubleshoot low voltage electrical systems.

  • Experience with Fanuc Robots, 6-axis robots, and PLCs.

  • Understanding of multimeters, motors, and PLC control.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Certifications in relevant maintenance or safety standards.

  • Proficiency in using CCMS systems.

  • Experience working with instrumentation technicians.

Work Environment

Work in an industrial manufacturing plant divided into two sections: Process Flow Raw Materials and Thermoforming production. Initially, you will train on days (8am-5pm, Monday-Friday) for 1-2 months, then transition to a weekend night shift (Friday-Monday, 7 PM-7 AM). Equipment includes screw presses, blend tanks, agitators, servo motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and refiners.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vonore, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $34.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
