Summary
About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W6RKAA 717TH MILITARY INTELLIGENCE BATTALION.
Duties
- Analyze communications signals information using national databases to synthesize raw intelligence data.
- Assist in the evaluation and prioritization of raw data to refine collection strategies in establishing systems and procedures.
- Prioritize intelligence collection efforts to satisfy national and tactical intelligence requirements.
- Disseminate tactical intelligence products regarding critical indications, warnings, and force protection.
- Recommend optimal product dissemination formats based on assessments of sensitive intelligence requirements.
- Advise the Intelligence Community and Unified Combatant Commands on sensitive technical operations.
- Develop target activity databases to enhance discovery capabilities for assigned missions.
- Coordinate with Target Offices of Primary Interest to design targeted intelligence collection plans.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience: 1. Analyzing raw communications signals data to identify capability deficits and interpreting this data to modify technical collection and processing strategies for emerging missions. AND 2. Prioritizing technical collection efforts and collaborating with Target Offices of Primary Interest to forecast and resolve signals intelligence gaps for national and tactical customers. AND 3. Evaluating raw communications data to format, produce, and disseminate actionable indications, warnings, and force protection intelligence products. AND 4. Developing technical working aids to enhance target discovery, and advising Intelligence Community and Combatant Command stakeholders on sensitive signals operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.

This position requires a 2 year trial period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
