BAE Systems is seeking a Non-Conforming Material (NCM) Analyst to support at its site in Anniston, Alabama. In this position as a NCM Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing the identification, documentation, and disposition of materials that do not meet established quality standards. Your role focuses on ensuring the NCM process is executed consistently, efficiently, and in full compliance with company and regulatory procedures. You will act as a critical link between production, quality, and management to reduce bottlenecks, identify root causes of material failure, and optimize the workflow of rejected materials within the Anniston facility.
Key Responsibilities:

Process Oversight & Validation:
-
Monitor the end-to-end non-conforming material workflow to ensure all steps are followed according to established protocols.

Validate that the process remains smooth and consistent across different shifts and product lines.

Provide hands-on assistance and guidance to team members during the NCM process as needed to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Analysis & Continuous Improvement:

Conduct detailed analysis of the NCM process to identify systemic barriers, bottlenecks, and causes of delay.

Evaluate data on rejected materials to identify common trends, recurring defects, and primary causes of non-conformance.

Develop and implement strategies to streamline the flow of material from identification to final disposition.

Documentation & Procedural Support:
-
Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to reflect current best practices and efficiency gains.

Ensure all NCM documentation is audit-ready and compliant with internal and external quality standards.

Cross Functional Coordination:
-
Collaborate closely with site and management to report on the status of rejected materials and the health of the NCM process.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Procurement, and Production) to ensure timely disposition of materials.

Manage the physical and digital tracking of rejected materials within the Anniston site to prevent accumulation and ensure proper segregation.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
-
Typically requires a Bachelors degree and four years of related experience, or the overall equivalent.
-
Proven experience in quality assurance, material analysis, or process improvement within a manufacturing or defense environment.

Strong ability to analyze data sets to identify trends and root causes of material failure.
-
Excellent coordination skills with the ability to communicate technical issues and process delays.

High level of precision and attention to detail in validating process compliance and maintaining documentation.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
-
Certification in Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) or Lean Manufacturing.

Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
-
Experience with ERP systems for material tracking and disposition.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $67728 - $115138
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
