ENGINEER INTERN APPLICANT - ENGINEER 5

This position serves as an Engineer in the Engineering Division of the Coastal Protection & Restoration Authority (CPRA). The incumbent will provide engineering and technical support for coastal restoration and flood protection projects in Louisiana, including in-house design work and development of construction documents. This position also assists with bidding, construction administration, and environmental permitting throughout project implementation. Eligibility for a Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate.

NOTE: This is a temporary position to be utilized while the incumbent is securing a Louisiana Engineer Intern certificate. Permanent status shall be denied to incumbents occupying this position.

The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.Job Duties:• Performs advanced civil engineering work in implementing an important segment, engineering and design, of the CPRA’s overall coastal restoration and flood protection program

• Performs analysis and design work for a variety of engineering structures and systems for coastal restoration and flood protection projects as assigned
• Participates in feasibility studies pertaining to coastal protection and restoration projects
• Prepares preliminary and final design documents, and bid documents (design reports, cost estimates, technical specifications, construction plans and bid and permitting documents)
• Coordinates, reviews and approves construction plans and specifications in conjunction with the technical staff and engineering consultants involved in any specific project

Position-Specific Details:Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional Career Progression: This position may be filled as an Engineer Intern Applicant, Engineer Intern 1, Engineer Intern 2, Engineer 3, Engineer 4, or Engineer 5 depending on level of experience. Office Location: 150 Terrace Ave Baton Rouge, LA 70802 Compensation: The maximum salary for the Engineer 5 is $126,256 annually.
