Principal Project Controls Specialist

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Principal Project Controls Specialist to support the Anderson Combined Cycle construction project. This individual will serve as the lead scheduler and Primavera P6 Subject Matter Expert, responsible for developing and maintaining the integrated project schedule, performing critical path analysis, forecasting schedule risks, and supporting project leadership teams throughout construction. This is a field-based role supporting a major power generation project.

Lead development and maintenance of integrated project schedules in Primavera P6. Perform critical path, schedule variance, and trend analysis. Track construction progress and verify schedule updates through field walkdowns. Develop recovery schedules and mitigation plans when delays occur. Support schedule-cost integration and project forecasting. Review change orders and assess schedule impacts. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, engineers, and project teams. Generate project controls reports and present schedule updates to leadership.

Field-based position supporting the Anderson Combined Cycle Project. Primarily onsite in Anderson, SC - can start remote until project kick off Will serve as the Primavera P6 SME for the project. Heavy interaction with construction teams, contractors, and project leadership.

Skills and Requirements

10+ years of scheduling/project controls experience (14+ without degree). Expert-level Primavera P6 experience. Strong critical path scheduling (CPM) experience. Large EPC construction project experience. Power generation, solar, renewable energy, or BESS project experience. Experience supporting active construction sites and performing field walkdowns. Willingness to work onsite in Anderson, SC. Acumen Fuse experience. Monte Carlo risk analysis. Vendor change order/time impact analysis. PMP, PMI-SP, AACE PSP, or related certifications. Experience mentoring or leading junior schedulers. MS Project and PeopleSoft experience.
