Full job description

Job Summary:

Working within Patient Access including Ambassadors, Bedboard, Central Registration, Emergency Department and Verification/Benefit Department. This position will provide supervision and guidance to HPSC1 and HPSC2 in the absence of appropriate Team Leader(s). Will need to know the general workings in each specified sub-department and must be able to function effectively. This position will also be responsible for financial collection of patient out-of-pocket amounts owing and will assist with the initiation of financial assistance programs and with payment plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree and two (2) years of related patient financial/insurance/registration experience in healthcare related setting or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Working knowledge of medical terminology, medical billing and excellent written and oral communication skills required. Excellent customer service skills. Certified Health Access Associate (CHAA) required** **Candidates who do not currently possess CHAA will be required to obtain certification within 2 years of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ability to work with a diverse patient population. Efficient keyboarding skills. Prior leadership experience preferred.

Work Days:

M - F primarily days rotating weekends & holidays as needed
