Full job description

Job Duties

The EduCare Lead Teacher provides a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment while supervising children across all daily activities. This role involves planning lessons, preparing materials, and collaborating with the Director to develop the educational curriculum. The Teacher serves as a primary link to families by tracking attendance and conducting semi-annual parent conferences.

Prepare lessons and arrange materials for daily activities

Keep daily attendance records

Arrange semi-annual conferences with parents

Work with the Director to plan and develop educational curriculum

Attend and participate in workshops, training sessions and in-services (24 hours/year)

Attend monthly staff meetings (child care center and Cotter)

Plan and arrange field trips

Provide staff with guidance and support, within the entire child care center

Supervise children during all activities

Work according to the child care center calendar (including Summer)

Make referrals for special service, when necessary

Performs all other duties as assigned

Minimum Education Required

Education & experience as dictated by Minnesota Rule 9503 for Child Care Centers

Minimum Experience Required

Become certified in CPR/First Aid within 90 days of hire

Proficient with computers and general classroom equipment

Be able to lift children up to 50 pounds

Kneeling, bending, stooping, standing for 75% of work day

Availability to work year round

Work well with others—team approach
