Job Duties

VEEMAH Integrated Wellness and Consulting Services, LLC

Our clinic is one of very few clinics in the region that extensively serves the large Nepalese community from throughout Minnesota and neighboring states. This role will be responsible for providing evidence-based mental health care to children, adolescents, and adults, with an emphasis on serving Nepalese clients.

Specific duties include:

  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions for at least 25 clients weekly.

  • Complete diagnostic assessments for each client.

  • Conduct “immigrant waiver assessments” to be used in coordination with the immigration cases of individuals seeking counseling from our clinic.

  • Develop an individual treatment plan with the client and with the collaboration of the clinical supervisor.

  • Implement interventions from the client’s individual treatment plan immediately after the conclusion of the diagnostic assessment, connecting the client with mental health services and resources.

  • Seek supervision as required based on the individual client’s needs for consultation.

  • Employ the Comprehensive Multidisciplinary Examination (CMDE) and the Early Intensive Developmental Behavior Intervention (EIDBI) according to client needs.

  • Focus on school-based services, working closely with students to provide clinical mental health support alongside the school social workers and administrative staff.

  • Provide culturally-responsive therapy to the Nepalese community, which has been underserved by the existing clinical therapist pool in our region. This therapy will contextualize the therapeutic techniques in the lived experience of the Nepalese community in Minnesota and the surrounding Midwestern states from which our clients come to us. It will utilize knowledge of the role of neuroscience in understanding the cognitive processes that lead to disparate mental health outcomes among this community.
