Full-Stack Engineers serve as a frontline engineering owner for complex production and customer-impacting issues while building and improving our cloud-based platform end to end. This role combines hands-on support - triaging incidents, reproducing problems, analyzing telemetry and data, communicating status, and driving issues through resolution - with full-stack delivery across web applications, APIs, services, integrations, and databases.
This is an engineering role with meaningful production support responsibility, not a traditional help-desk position. The engineer is expected to translate incidents and recurring customer pain into durable code fixes, better observability, automation, and platform improvements.
Essential Job Responsibilities and Key Performance Outcomes
1. Production Support and Incident Ownership
-
Own escalated, high-impact production and customer issues from intake through resolution, including triage, severity assessment, reproduction, containment, mitigation, root-cause analysis, and follow-up.
-
Investigate issues across the full application stack using logs, traces, metrics, application code, API behavior, browser and service diagnostics, and database queries.
-
Translate ambiguous customer symptoms into testable hypotheses, clear technical findings, and actionable next steps; provide timely updates to internal stakeholders and, when needed, customers.
-
Use sound judgment when operating in production, following runbooks, least-privilege practices, change controls, and escalation procedures to minimize operational risk.
-
Produce high-quality root-cause analyses that explain what happened, why it happened, the impact, and the prevention plan; contribute to measurable improvements in time-to-mitigation and time-to-resolution.
2. Full-Stack Platform Engineering
-
Design, develop, test, and maintain platform capabilities across modern web interfaces, backend APIs, microservices, integrations, and data-access layers.
-
Build maintainable frontend experiences using JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern framework such as Angular or React, connecting them to secure, well-designed APIs and services.
-
Develop and debug backend services using C# and .NET, applying sound design patterns and engineering practices for performance, scalability, resilience, and maintainability.
-
Create, optimize, and maintain data structures, SQL queries, and data flows that support reliable application behavior and high-performance processing.
-
Integrate external services and APIs to extend platform functionality and interoperability.
3. Reliability and Continuous Improvement
-
Implement safe, durable fixes for production defects, including defensive code, improved error handling, stronger validation, enhanced logging, and automated recovery or monitoring where appropriate.
-
Proactively monitor platform health, identify emerging risks, and improve observability through useful dashboards, alerts, logs, traces, and metrics.
-
Create and maintain runbooks, technical documentation, and knowledge articles that improve support readiness and reduce repeat incidents.
-
Participate in the team's production support and incident response rotation as required.
4. Security, Quality, and Compliance
-
Implement and maintain secure development practices that protect sensitive data and support applicable privacy and compliance requirements, including HIPAA and HITRUST expectations.
-
Write well-tested, maintainable code; participate in code reviews; and follow established standards for source control, CI/CD, deployment, and change management.
5. Collaboration and Problem Solving
-
Partner with product managers, data analysts, support teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with customer and business needs.
-
Resolve technical challenges independently within the scope of the role while proactively seeking guidance or escalating when broader architecture, risk, or business decisions are required.
-
File high-signal defect reports with clear reproduction steps, evidence, impact, and suspected components, and collaborate with teammates through closure.
Required Qualifications
-
At least two (2) years of professional full-stack software engineering experience building, supporting, and maintaining production applications.
-
Hands-on experience developing and debugging backend applications or services using C# and .NET.
-
Hands-on experience building web applications using JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern frontend framework such as Angular or React.
-
Experience designing, consuming, and troubleshooting RESTful APIs, services, or microservices.
-
2 + years’ experience working with relational databases and SQL, including investigative queries, data validation, and basic performance awareness.
-
Experience troubleshooting production issues using application logs, metrics, traces, debugging tools, and disciplined root-cause analysis.
-
Experience working with at least one major cloud platform such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
-
2 + years of experience working in a software development principled, design patterns, testing, security, scalability, and maintainability environment.
-
Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience supporting Azure-based .NET applications, including Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, or related observability workflows.
-
Experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), including query optimization or performance troubleshooting.
-
Experience with containerized or orchestrated environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
-
Experience with DataDog or comparable monitoring, dashboarding, and alerting platforms.
-
Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git-based workflows, pull requests, build pipelines, and CI/CD practices.
-
Experience with AWS, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, NoSQL technologies, or high-volume data-processing solutions.
-
Prior experience in healthcare technology, regulated environments, or customer-facing technical escalations.
What Success Looks Like
-
Customer-impacting issues are diagnosed, communicated, mitigated, and resolved with urgency, accuracy, and sound production judgment.
-
Full-stack features and fixes are delivered with strong quality, security, maintainability, and operational readiness.
-
Recurring issues decline because incident learnings are converted into code improvements, automation, better observability, and reusable documentation.
-
Engineering and business partners receive clear, high-signal technical information that supports timely decisions and durable solutions.
